Job Captain

Shaun brings a unique perspective to Winslow Architects, combining over 15 years of hands-on
experience as a general contractor with 5 years of diverse freelance architectural design work.
As a designer, Shaun has worked on projects across 25 U.S. states and internationally, including
Australia, Canada, France, Estonia, and Saudi Arabia. His portfolio spans a wide range of project types,
from a 13,000-square-foot Gothic Revival mixed-use barn in North Carolina to a complex renovation and
dock system in Oregon, which required coordination with the Army Corps of Engineers and the
Department of State Lands. This breadth of experience has honed Shaun’s expertise in design, 3D
modeling, construction documentation, and permitting processes.
Prior to transitioning fully into design, Shaun owned and operated a successful contracting business with
two locations in the Pacific Northwest. During that time, he worked on commercial, residential, and
government projects for clients such as Oregon Metro, Portland International Airport, and the Oregon
Zoo. His hands-on background in structural welding, carpentry, and concrete work has instilled a deep
understanding of materials and craftsmanship, skills that inform his approach to every project.
Shaun holds an Architecture degree from Portland Community College and is currently pursuing his
M.Arch at the Boston Architectural College. Outside of work, he enjoys exploring Boston neighborhoods,
bike riding, sketching, and practicing martial arts like boxing, judo, and jiu jitsu.
